Theresa Payton will discuss the importance of digital safety, identity theft with kids, and technology in today’s world as it concerns our children. Payton emphasizes that the internet is not just a series of software programs and hardware, it is made up of people. With the pevalence of personal devices, technology advancements and the increased role of social media in children’s lives today, it is increasingly more important for parents to provide children with the tools to combat evolving cyber threats.
Payton’s discussion will cover the dangers of the digital age and how we can help law enforcement in providing a digital neighborhood watch. There will also be deep discussion on how to create, maintain and protect a healthy digital identity for all family members, adults and children alike.
Payton will be introduced by Sheriff Shoar, of the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.
